1) Why divide the opening figures up between the hands? I wouldn't think that makes it any easier. It's hard enough for one.
2) Too much pedal: It makes what is already a very loud instrument even louder and heavier. Plus it bogs the rhythm down.
3) I think the approach is too forceful. This is beatiful imagery, not Beethoven Appassionata or Liszt Totentanz.

Fair enough, but my camera has muddled and made harsher the sound. I am sure that he will take this postively. Thank you for leaving constructive remarks!

Really muddled at 1:42, the base line does not come out. Perhaps it is the sound engineering.
