Who taught how to play and when did you start playing? Also what do you use to hit the drum?
acbennett17 1 year ago
@acbennett17 I was taught by several "Pan Men" when I was 13 years old (I'm 39 now) and have been playing and performing for most of my life. I now teach it to adults and kids alike.
The sticks for steel pans are called mallets and they can be made with wooden dowels or aluminum piping and surgical rubber or deep sea spear rubber for the tips.
Thanks for the comments and interest. Much appreciated.

holy crap thats so sick! how do you know where to hit for certain notes? that must be so hard haha

It was hard when I first started and they pasted the notes for me to find them. It's been sooo many years since then, you just learn where the notes are and there's actually a pattern that's easy to follow once you learn it. That's for the comment
