The second outing with my Fling Wing. This model was a freee plan in RCM&E Magazine from the UK. It was designed by Nigel Hawes. It should be renamed 'The Divot' after this flight!
Wow, with that kind of power it'll go FAST. I guess an AUW like that will be OK as long as the CofG is correct. Launching might be a problem though, mine needed a hefty chuck to give enough speed to fly on its own. Maybe with enough thrust you can do the 'point it skywards with full throttle and just let go' method. (never done that myself though).
Good luck, I hope you have fun with her. She's certainly a unique model.
Thanks for the info! I installed a too heavy 200 W motor and AUW is 478 grams, that´s WAY too heavy. The KV is just around 1000, 3s though. Anyway I´ll try to maiden it with a 9x6 APC.
I don't know AUW anymore because I've used the gear elsewhere. It hated flying slow and had a wicked stall / spin. It was always great fun to fly though. It needed lots of space to fly from, which I don't have anymore.
I still have the airframe and it's good to go once I put the electronics back in. Maybe I'll get it going again one day. I now fly (among others) an MS Composit Swift II flying wing which does everything I wanted the Fling Wing to do and more.
I used an emax 2812 up front, spinning a TGS sport 6x5E prop. Power was from a 3s 1250mAh LiPo fed through a 'Super Simple' 15-18A speed controller. Servos were HXT500's (x3) and the receiver was a Corona RP6S1.
No worries ;)

What´s your motor/esc/battery set up? AUW? I´ve finished my build, but have yet to decide electronics.
