paracord is the best thing for these, strong, thick, and most importantly is brown, an extremely important aspect of a bass is brown string

Looking at the bucket, you did a great job.. It just doesn't sound as good as it looks..Maybe ther string. Betcha if you have been playing it since 2007 it sounds a whole lot different... Again I play the gutbucket and it can do justice as a poor man's bass. At least according to my less- then- the gold -standard ears

ive seen people play these in Santa Cruz, they get the low notes real well, the challenge is to build one that can get the slightly higher ones
