I wonder how the automatic transmission is holding out in the mark... I've never been a fan of automatic transmissions, due to the high cost of making them strong enough to handle good power. Is the transmission in the mark viii strong enough to take a good beating?

@Hellz420 the 4r70w is a pretty beastly trans. they are highly capable when properly built and many guys use them now a days, even in the 05 and ups. In stock form with the J-Mod, higher stall and and aux cooler, I have seen these handle plenty of power with no prob. the trans in this mark is still going strong with many passes on it fyi.

@1sik3297 like you will be driving down the road and she will go into neutral..when that happens i put it in second and wait for a sec or 2 and it will engage again and then i put it back in drive. we have fixed all the springs insie the tranny that break.  we think it is an electrical problem but were not sure.

@v8only jeremy why the hell do you never ask me these questions and you should know already these bottoms ends are practically bullet proof if taken care of...idk if you remember my buddy in his tbird or not...but he is running spray 150 shot with the sct x-cal2...hes ran maybe 15 bottles with the 150...no signs of problems..and hes working on 200k plus miles..with D/Rs he got down to a 13.4 bottle hitting like crap....in case your wondering its Jason..lol...

@sundayfunday563 explain falling out of gear? meaning is it not holding a certain gear?is it sliping raising rpm and not picking up speed? what?? if these are any of your cases your trans is done for dont touch it leave it alone unless you want to have it rebuilt....the j-mod simply allows for more fluid to be transfered from the valve body to the parts in the trans to make the shift..by doing this faster shifts and extending the life of the trans by cutting down heat from the excess slipping..

I'm still wondering why a Mark VIII on spray cannot keep up with a 07 GT Stang with hardly any mods. Is the Mark VIII just sprayed and that's it??

@Spike10101 can you explain the jmod? bc our mark viii keeps falling out of gear does that fix it?

i'm more curious as to the bottom end of the mark viii motor is handling the 100 shot...I've got a 98 lsc too. Did he use a handheld tuner like the xcal for a tune, or did he take it in somewhere?

@CockYaLegS Iv'e walked GT's with more mods than that. Without any mods on my part. You have to know a good roll speed for the mark for proper downshifting points. I run 13's with nitrous but alot of people that beat me at the track CANNOT hang with me on the highway. Example a 70 mph roll = mark 8 drops to 2nd gear and with the nos... you will leave just about any car standing still.
