Riding the fast elevators at the Chase Tower in Downtown Rochester, New York. These elevators are still relay-controlled and thus accelerate to about 5 m/s in only 3 stages! These are the fastest-acceleating elevators I've ever been on.

  • What for a kind of indicator is that?

  • @TheNrwskyrock It uses two dials w/ transparencies for each number.

  • Wow!!

How does that indicator work? Is it like Otis RotoDial? I am dying to know how those work and you do know and I want to know! Could you please tell me how they work?

  • I don't know.

  • @urthemole cool how the 13 is leaning looks creepy that way

  • I like how the "13" button is crooked that is creepy

  • @thyssenelevator95 like a numechron LOL

  • @thyssenelevator95 looks like a numechron clock type movement LOL

  • I was wondering what this place had. A wonderful Haughton installation!

  • That elevator does look really fast. A lot of the old Dover/Turnbull elevators have that kind of indicator

  • Dang! That elevator sure knows the word speed.

  • Nixie tubes would not display solid, bold numbers like that. You would see the other digits and the numbers would appear very orange and thin.
