I was a gunner on avalanche control with a detachment that was mostly from U Battery, augmented by G and J, in November and December, 1975. A good time was had by anyone who gave it some thought. Imagine, if you will, Dennis Strilchuk as Santa Claus--a 20-something beardless subbie "ho-ho-hoing" for a very crusty sergeant, two leathery master bombardiers and a handful of gunners, most of whom were older than he.
