Hail Storm Near Allentown, PA Tornado Watch

March 29, 2009 at 5:30pm it was 61 degrees and partly cloudy. I was jogging in the Four Seasons Adult Community in Lower Macungie Township when I noticed a strike of lightning in the distance. I thought I best head back to my home two miles away. En route it began to rain a little, but, the lightning got stronger and I began to hear thunder. I called my husband to pick me up. It then began raining much harder and I noticed hail about the size of 1/2 penny. I was soaked, but, hubby arrived and I was safe. The second we pull into the garage we hear this loud noise on the house. I grabbed the camera and took this video of quarter size hail bouncing all over amidst lightning and thunder. After I turned the camera off I checked the television to learn on national news we were in a tornado watch. G-d was on my side, and, so was my husband!

i was just in this storm. Live near philly. My aunts got Golf ball sized hail near Quakertown. We got major winds.

I was very lucky my husband picked me up. I would have had that hail on my head, not to mention I could have been struck by lightning! Our hail really was about quarter sized. It's still on the ground! It was so loud!

I got to be driving on the Nj turnpike, right near the pa border, near trenton.

Ugh...I'm from P'burg and got this storm too, one of the worst I've seen! Glad you weren't hurt in it though.
