If you're fan of screw-propelled vehicles you must watch here:

Hmm... I understand the main idea. Of course MusMaster is designed special for dewatering tailings but in general the screw-vehicle technology is uniqe conception of ultimate offroad machine. I'm happy that today screw-vehicles are not dead only thanks to Tailings Disposal Management company. You guys are nice! Maybe some time later we will see new screw vehicle for casual purposes. And... eeer... I'll wait for some new videos about MudMaster in HD (720p or maybe 1080p)!

@bambo0zle I must admit to wanting a faster machine, the trick is maintaining the power/mass/buoyancy ratio. To go faster requires more power which weighs more which needs greater buoyancy which weighs more which requires more power (whew!). We are working on a newer approach..........watch this space.
Thank you, these vehicles are just awesome.

Thanks for your comments. Blending is possible but it usually indicates a loss of traction. It is far better to minimise the blending/maximise the traction otherwise you re-pulp the dewatering tailings. This reduces the inherent strength and density of the tailings. This is another reason why increasing the speed can be self-defeating from a dewatering perspective.

I wanna drive this stuff!
By the way this is an old idea. What is the maximum speed?! Is The MudMaster really better than ЗИЛ-29061?! Watch here /watch?v=afJ18eJeNgU

@bambo0zle Thanks for your comment. Most applications of the screw tractor are to provide access in very soft soils and hence speed is an important consideration. The MudMaster is different in that it actually assists in dewatering the underlying soft soils. The design is a careful balance between machine mass, machine buoyancy and machine speed to maximise this benefit. Speed is 3.0 kph - not exactly the wild ride of earlier designs but very important for the application it is designed for.
