The chute can entangle, delay the deploy, be pushed by wind into the structure etc. etc.
And he has no second chance.
You are "gay" here, unless you are able to withstand 17248N (or 1758.8 kgf if your weight is 80 kg) from 22m freefall,
which no human can btw.
