You never want to put the rod down the muzzle from the front end like that! You will screw up the crown and that screws up accuracy. Especially when holding the rifle and rod like you were.
You want to have it horizontal on a steady base and clean from the bolt end.
Also, the toilet paper is going to get messy and Leave a lot of remnants in the barrel. Stick with just cleaning patches.
