The original recordings of the first humans landing on the moon 40 years ago were erased and re-used, but newly restored copies of the original broadcast look even better, NASA officials said.
@jamman55 i think you protest to much as you know there was a 2 so that at least 2.5 second 2 way conversation going on the original footage was sent from an Australian tracking station then relayed so even a greater time gap , no time delay was incurred in the footage no massages to say they was manipulation of the footage to drop time lag ,which in 1969 would have taken a day to edit out ,it was promoted as live strange
@OrphanPaper The Moon is apx 380km away. Light travels apx 300km/s. So less than 1 and 1/3 of a sec. And radiowaves are LIGHT WAVES. Making mountains out of molehills over the "delayed" response stuff folks.
@jamman55 .No it takes 1 sec for the radiowaves to get to earth then the guy need 1 or 2 sec to think and then 1 sec for the answer to get to the moon.
@aquarius21192 lol no, they didnt leave a mirror for a laser. There isnt a need for any technological device to determine the distance of the moon. There's a mathematical formula for determining the distance of the moon based on its orbit and it's velocity. See Kepler's Law. Also distance can also be determined through the light spectrum and doppler effect of the moon respectively.
@Qulopuaa The moon is apx 300,000 km from earth. Which is the speed in which light travels in a second. Therefore there would only be a delay of apx one sec.
howcome the guy on earth is responding so quickly to the moonguy. There must be a delay of if not seconds, really wierd that he talks as if the delay dont exist

@jamman55 the moons is about 2 seconds each way , the Russians had to train teams to
operate there landing craft because of the time delay

@OrphanPaper There's only apx one sec delay for radiowaves to reach earth. So not much of a delay at all.
