  • IT IS NOT A DISEASE.............IT IS SIN...when people insist on calling it a disease they remove themselves from the responsibility of taking action against the problem. Yes some have a greater perpensity to drugs and additions but drugs can be beaten as well as any other addition. 1 Recognition 2 Repentance 3 Recovery

    and no it isn't easy.

  • @MrBrotherLou

    JESUS?? IS THAT YOU??

  • @BobSeger1981

No..not Jesus....it reads more like a Tennesee Williams play....read the biography or 2 ABOUT HIM and you will understand just why he came undone......why? His stepfather admitted bringing his mother who was dying of alcoholism in the hospital....a pint of vodca..they found alcohol in her system after she died..on the day he graduated from high school.....gram unwound after that news......buy the two biographys...you will understand then....Rest in peace Gram...K.

Seems like you got all this info from the documentary film. I have read books on Gram.

  • Hillman's book called "Hot Burritos - The True Story of the Flying Burrito Brothers" is a worthwhile read for FBB fans.

  • Wow--very interesting comment from Emmylou. She doesn't name the name, but otherwise pulls no punches here.

  • @jonpaulmoen so now you are going to tell me that Whitney Houston got the disease too........good call! Answer Man!

  • @MrBrotherLou Leave your religion out of it, nutjob.

  • people are faulty bio-bags of goo, whats the problem?

  • I believe both Moses and Jesus were talking about psychedelic mushrooms when they spoke of bread. It was better and still is better for the powers that be to hide this from us so we would be easier to control. Unfortunately your stone casting proves their effectiveness. Pompous ass judgements are more a sin than drug use.

  • Its not a disease or a sin...it self medication - the guy hurt and he couldn't find a solution so he tried to numb it out. I believe in God and I believe there is ample evidence that Gram was trying to make that connection. I have also been in that thing we call 'addiction" and that's the score when life hurts too much we try to find a cure - even if it is a band-aid.

Christ certainly has a cure for those willing to seek Him for it. Condemning people's moral failings will not bring that about.

  • @MrBrotherLou Calling it a "sin' shows an incredible level of ignorance, most often driven by religious dogma. Meddle not into the affairs of science, your fictitious sky daddy has no place here.

  • If you never try the drug you won't get addicted to it. Except for those born addicted because of the mother's use while pregnant. As far as GOD goes, you must first believe in GOD. If you truly believe in GOD this pertains to you. It is a sin because you are not suppose to pollute your body or alter your mind so as not to be able to make sound, moral, ethical decisions. But good news, if you believe in GOD you can be delivered from any addiction or disease. You just have to ask AND listen.

  • Actually heroin addiction can be classed as a disease, a psychiatrist from Newcastle University who works in criminal profiling came to asses me and my partner and when i received his results it said "Opiate dependence syndrome" so i guess you can say that is a medical condition. Plus we have been clean for 6 years.
