Drum Camp 08 - The 120 Project #6
Djun Djun & Djembe - Hans Sutton / Stephan Pugh / Theo Bard / Stuart Ogier / Karen Smith.
At Drum Camp 08 I walked past a marquee and found djun djun teacher and master drummer Hans Sutton along with fellow teacher Stephan Pugh and friends knocking out a blinding groove (on another vids here).
Don't know what song it was (Steph tell me?)
I waited and sprung the idea that they all play at 120 bpm so I could mashup their rhythms with others filmed at Drum Camp.
They readily and kindly agreed to have a go - despite me having lost the headphone adapter from the metronome! They had to play to click while looking at the metronome's lights flash. That is really tough to do.
I really love the break and calls in this. I also love how Hans vocalises the rhythms for everyone before recording. So I left it in. Hope you like it too.
Thanks to all who contributed.
Hope you enjoy
