Grant McCune Design, a Los Angeles based design/manufacturing firm with impeccable credits that reach back to an Academy Award for model work done for the motion picture Star Wars, is offering for the first time a museum quality display model of the extinct Mauritius Dodo Bird. This highly detailed model was meticulously designed and sculpted by Monty Shook and Scott Burton, resident artists of Grant McCune Design, Los Angeles California.1:3 scale Dodo Bird model, is approximately 12" tall and mounted in a lifelike environment surrounded by tall reeds. Entirely designed, sculpted, molded, hand-cast, and painted in the United States by American artisans. The design is based on the most current research of skeletal remains found at the Mauritius site in 2007, and reflects current theories in reference to anatomy and features. This representation offers a more realistic approach than past historical recreations.

This Extinct Bird has become the metaphor for human ignorance and serves as a reminder of man's impact on nature, a complete, ready-to-display, exhibit for your Museum or Personal collection. Available August 2010.
