Tekko kagi and jutte

I decided to redo two items in my collection my tekko kagi and jutte. Due to the time it took to construct the tekko kagi i wont be reproducing them. the cost would be way to much.

But would'nt it make more sense to twist the claws of the tekko kagi 90 degrees in order to get cutting blades rather than scratching claws? Im thinking Wolverine-style claws...

@condorlegion89 the only thing these need is a horizontal bar on the back of the claws about halfway between his knuckles and the part where the claws bend, that would stop a blade from coming down between the claws and cutting his knuckles and allow him to do the twist and disarm (or break) overall these are really well made and not as heavy and clunky as others i have seen, good work guy!

I was wondering why doesnt the new or historical tekko kagi have a knuckle guard to protect your fingers< if a sword attack, wouldnt you get cut?, it says they stopped sword blows,or snatch a sword from enemy hands. But how would they do that without getting their 4 fingers chopped by the blade? theyre exposed =/
