Welcome to Portswood - by the Medics Revue 2011 - The Chronicles of Barmia; The Loin, The Itch and The Wardround.

Just down the road from the RSH, you come across one of the world's darkest, dingiest places. Let us take you on a musical journey through one of Southampton's finest districts.

The Medics' Revue exists to raise money for charity - and this year is no different. All proceeds from this year's show are to be split between The Cardiomyopathy Association - a leading cause of death in young people, and our local charity - The Soceity of St James - homelessness service. We are hoping to have raised in excess of £5000.

Finally, this video was created in jest, and if it has caused any offence to Portswood residents then I apologise, as that was never the intention. For all it's quirks, we really do love Portswood.

  • Good on them. It's great to see students from outside of Southampton supporting local charity, the Society of St James. It has to be grim being homeless at Christmas and I am sure the money will help a lot of people. If everyone that watched this video donated £1 it would have a big impact. ssj.org.uk

  • I absolutely love this... It made me laugh!! I'm a radio presenter and going to play an edited version of this on Skyline Gold on Friday 22nd December between 12-2PM on 102.5 locally or you can listen on the net. Just google Skyline Gold and click where it says " listen now" :-)

  • Waitrose XD

  • That brings back memories. I used to live there as a student 20 years ago. All the pubs are the same except there was no so-bar. Jesters used to be an absolute dive in those days - falling down, leaking roof.

  • acually Jesters in in bevois valley not portswood! ;)

  • @tohrasup Or just different to you?

  • @REDandWHITE1993 and you socially construct yourself as "other"

  • @tohrasup You only continue to present yourself as insular and insecure.

  • @REDandWHITE1993 and you're a walking ad for a return to eugenics

  • Wow, it hasn't changed since the 98-2003 golden era.. I miss ya portswood. Great video guys!

  • ah i used to live in portswood - this makes me homesick!
