Metroid Prime is a video game developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo GameCube, released in North America on November 17, 2002. It is the first 3D game in the Metroid series, and is classified by Nintendo as a first-person adventure rather than a first-person shooter, due to the large exploration component of the game. In North America, it was also the first Metroid installment to be released since Super Metroid in 1994; in all other markets, it was released after Metroid Fusion.

Metroid Prime is the first of the three part Prime storyline, which takes place between the original Metroid and Metroid II: Return of Samus. Like previous games in the series, Metroid Prime has a science fiction setting, in which players control the bounty hunter Samus Aran. The story follows Samus as she battles the Space Pirates and their biological experiments on the planet Tallon IV.

Despite initial backlash from fans due to the first-person perspective, the game was released to both critical and commercial success, selling more than a million units in North America alone and becoming one of the most acclaimed games of all time. In 2009, an enhanced version was released for Wii as a standalone game in Japan and as part of Metroid Prime: Trilogy internationally.

Metroid Prime: Trilogy is an action-adventure video game compilation developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo for the Wii video game console. It features Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on a single dual-layer disc. The former two, which were originally released for the Nintendo GameCube, have been updated with many of the features that were first implemented in the latter. It was released in North America on August 24, 2009, the UK on September 4, 2009, and in Australia on October 15, 2009. It comes packaged in a metal tin (only available in the North America release), contains an art booklet, and includes other features. Managing Director of Nintendo Australia, Rose Lappin, said in an interview that there are a few surprises "in the book" for the game's Australian PAL release.

  • And what about the Voice over?

  • I use my a standerd microphone set up in an elaborate way that is basicly sticking stuff over, so that it amplifies my voice to audible levels.

    I record with Audacity.

  • Just got this game... ITS AWESOME!

What are you using to record this?

  • I use a Samsung DVD Recorder, and the program Bit Ripper to rip the footage.

  • Yay planets not consisting of the word earth or those in our solar system... sometimes I dislike games that do a fantasy setting yet still call the planet they are on earth or something like that..

Super Metroid is fun, if I played any metroid game, that's the one I would probably play.

"Interesting things are... interesting." Well said LaZodiac, well said. =) hehe

Super missile, I love upgrades so much but graphics still don't matter.

  • Roof doors, it's about time XP I always wanted to defy gravity by going upstairs through a roof door.

Get close enough to the edge and the games programming shows, you hit point A, a space pirate or something jumps down in front of you. I see it a lot in certain games that do it in that obvious way.

puzzles are ok, I could handle Metroid I think. You spin me right round, baby, Samus does it to progress though.

"Your going to destory the whole planet, FATHER!! You've got to stop it!" (random)

  • Alright then thank you
