  • Bird experts do not recommend dryer lint for bird nesting material. "There may be perfumes and soap residue, but more important it isn’t a good nest building material. Lint hardens after getting wet providing a poor nest for baby birds."

  • I stuff egg cartons with it and pour wax over, then break the egg cups apart to light the campfire in my tipi.

  • If your clothing is all cotton, then it is ok in your compost pile, and safe as a fire starter. Or maybe you at least have all cotton towels, so when you dry towels you can use that. Better yet, dry your clothes on the line!

  • @seanaseana Great minds think alike. I just had the same idea.

  • do you think dryer lint could be used to help with the oil leak?

  • Yes I am really skeptical about using it in my compost.

  • This is being semi-resourceful, but not green. I would not use polyester rags to start a fire, nor would I throw polyester in the compost, so why would I use lint with polyester in it.
