Btw when I say "That's the plan", doesn't it look like a Captain Morgan pose? LOL

  • Wait..so you didn't clip off the leaves? didn't you bury it a bit deeper than the plastic pot's height? and whats your opinion on pots- is the plastic better (to help get the plant and soil out)? thanks :)

  • @AhBbJeh Not on this one. Clipping off leaves is good to keep them from taking the nitrogen as the decompose. I used pure compost when transplanting so this isn't an issue. I personally prefer plastic containers. They bend and move to help loosen roots. Clay are heavy and sometimes hold the roots.

  • chickens and all other animals will not eat hot peppers with the exception of man. We are the only dumb ones to enjoy such a fruit.

  • @TheFallguy11 I think it's strange that the chemical that causes the heat (capsaicin) that we enjoy in peppers is the exact same thing police spray into the eyes of methhead robbers as they come running out of the local 7-11 with armloads of stolen cigarettes and lottery tickets. :)

  • how do u keep the deer and stuff out of your gardens???

  • @hobbyguy217 5 foot tall 3" welded wire fencing surrounds the garden. Keeps the deer out. Also at the bottom of the fencing I attacked 2 foot tall metal hardware cloth to keep rabbits out. I have boatloads of deer and rabbits so it was a VERY good investment.

  • Feeding Thai peppers to the chickens can have 3 foreseeable consequences:

    1. Immediate “meep-meep” roadrunner behavior.

    2. Pre-spiced chicken wings.

    3. Deviled eggs.

LOL... This, Ladies and Gentleman is an example of my fantasy at work... I either need to get a job in Hollywood, or change medications.

  • My Brother Ray, the peppers won't hurt the birds , I dry lots of different peppers to make my bbq rubs. I always grow way more of everything than I need , so I started mixing my dryed ground pepper into my bird seed it keeps the squirles, coons and bears away. now I scatter my ground pepper mix around the garbage cans and down by my mail box ( my neibour sometimes leaves a pie in there for me). it does not hurt the birds one bit.

  • I love how simple you make gardening. You help the ordinary person who is not an expert (me!) feel like it is doable. Plus I love your humor...
