Tromsø 2018 Winter Olympics

Tromsø was to be selected as Norway's candidate for the 2018 Winter Olympics. This was considered an interesting idea to many sports fans and some of the IOC members (including the president of IOC Jacques Rogge) as Tromsø would be the first city north of the Arctic Circle to host the games and would be the most compact games ever. But some jerks in the Norwegian sports officials and sporting organizations was very jealous, because Oslo lost the candidate for Olympic Games to Tromsø, they didn't want to support and decided to say NO to Tromsø Winter Olympics 2018.
Reason: too expensive... Really retarded since Norway is one of the richest countries in the world...
The IOC thought the decision was very strange, thinking that Norway doesn't want to host a Olympic Games in the future.
The decision is very unfair since we really need new wintersports facilities in Northern-Norway, and that we never get the chance to support big events:(

Argumentet med at det er for langt unna, er nisselue-argument. Det bor flere mennesker i Tromsø, enn i Lillehammer, og for oss fra Oslo eller deromkring, er det da ett fett om man tar to tre timer i bilen, eller halvannen time på flyet(til Tromsø).Nordnorge har også det største potensiale for turisme,Ol effekten og at sportstilbud og hoteller finnes er smart. Det er noe Norge trenger,et lite land med store ambisjoner. Kvalitetstegn på samfunnet at vi stiller bredt mht idretts-anlegg geografisk.

Jeg bor selv i Oslo og synes at det er en flott idé at Tromsø skal få ha OL. Hvorfor skal Lillehammer og Oslo få ha det, som har hatt det før ?

Og det tar bare 2 timer med fly, herregud da.

Tromsø er en nydelig by og fortjener å arrangere OL.

only 8 years left then , I will definitly come ! I've never been at the olympics games in real. Just watched it on tv. I dont mind traveling out country, ratherd stay in my own, just i was not born when the last was in norway ;)
