Ah now that is a good joke you told there.
The best rhythm games happen to be the Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan series, Parappa The Rappa, and Rhythm Heaven. Rock Band and Guitar Hero come in a close second. (Guitar Hero 1, 2, and arguably 3 only)
While the tailing DDR/ITG come in close but not quite. I think it is the lack of rhythmic coherency...(The arrows don't match the music very well.)
