http://www.chordboard.com is site that explains this. OK, I found out about Empire of the Sun a few weeks ago This music is just released in America. The songs in the new album are We Are The People, Standing on the Shore and Walking on a Dream, and the chord progressions and melody are really good, so I had to do a cover. I chose the We Are The People song.

  • DAMN. nice voice. hate autotune, tho. sorry.

  • @craffte Yeah me too, it waas just a style choice on the backup male vocal (me), but the female lead voice (Steph) was just her with some delay, etc. and she does have perfect pitch so it was a ONE TAKE with a hand held mike.

  • How do you change a key to a minor?

  • @anointed01 On the Chordboard STAC, you have key signatures. You can go to chordboard website, watch a few instructional vids there on how that is done... but to change any of the key signatures to a minor key you press the major/minor toggle. This changes the ROOT of the key signature to a minor or a major. Then all other chords update as per the key signature.

For example, in the key of C, the root C is MAJOR, and the next chord up is D MINOR, then E MINOR, then F MAJOR, G MAJOR, etc.

  • what synths do you use?

  • @MrJennion Hi, we primarily use the Yamaha Motif XS8 synth, with some plug in sounds in the DAW, but mostly the Motif with effects and played by the Chordboard STAC MIDI controller to get that symphonic sound.

  • I am still very confused with music theory in general. I have been trying to teach myself things like the circle of fifths for years, off and on. I am trying to understand how the way you are showing it is different from it being a I-IV-VI-I progression in the key of Em?

I think this is a very impressive cover btw. Are you also digitally creating those great sounding acoustical guitar strums?

  • Very cool cover!

  • That was sweet! :) Great job!

  • man this is sick to go alng with the guitar

  • @chordboard Thanks a lot for the info. Great product!!!

  • Thank you very much for your response, I cant`t wait to get the software. Very cool!!!
