  • We had a retreat to the Tiger Island area (San Lorenzo) of Honduras. Did not get to the island, but got a few really good shots of it in the sunset. I enjoyed my tour there, and I am pretty sure it is a lot better there now than when you were there. It was a great place to end my military career after 36 years.

  • Great pics CPT Speer! I did 6 months at Soto Cano in 1988 at JTF-Bravo. I really credit that assignment as one of my best "learning opportunities". I accompanied the base Chaplain to orphanages and also a prison. Opened my eyes for the rest of my life, let me tell you.

San Pedro Sulu and Tiger Island were my personal favorite retreats on MWR trips, as well as a special 5 day trip to Roatan Island for scuba certification.

Thanks for reviving some GREAT memories!

  • @Texaschilipepper Thanks for your message. All of us who served at Soto Cano have some great memories. Been to Tiger Island and Roatan as well. Helping those orphans was very rewarding also. Great tour!
