one of the most prolific kick off returners the NFL has ever seen...its only 6 min..i messed up in the end it says its 8 min..footage provided by NFL films
Remember the three (non-racist) "little monkey" comments made by Cosell? Who was #2 about??
#1. "That little monkey. The theory was that he was too small for pro football." - 08/29/1972 Chiefs @ Giants preseason HOF game (re: Mike Adamle - white guy)
#2. "Look at that little monkey run!" (re: an unknown player, white or black? game, punt/kickoff return?) TERRY METCALF???
#3. "That little monkey gets loose doesn't he." - 09/05/1983 Dallas @ Washington (re: Alvin Garrett - black guy)
Remember Metcalf as single receiver for punt returns. The other teams learned to kick the ball out of bounds. Hart had the full house backfield in those days and an arsenal of receivers like Jackie Smith and Mel Gray. Air Coryell--as it was known-- lasted five seasons, the Cardinals captured two division titles (there was no wild card) and went 42-27-1 for a winning percentage of .607
Wonderful compilation. However, I wish you had put NFL Films music to it. I met Terry at an autograph/sports memorabilia show a few years ago here in St. Louis. He told me that he was a high school football coach in Seattle. He has gained some weight over the years (haven't we all?), but very fun to talk to and talk about the glory days of the Big Red.

St. Louis never really won, also Bidwell's ownership of the team truly sucked!
