Teachers used to be terrified to use technology in their classrooms. Now that they realize how easy it is and what a big impact it makes with their students, more teachers are integrating technology into the curriculum.
The school I work for has given every teacher a laptop.
They are allowed to take the machines home, and most of the teachers haven't been afraid to experiment with the machines and get to know Windows.
The best thing to do as a sysadmin is not to get upset when a teacher breaks the computer (i.e. don't blame the user). If this happens, the teacher will just put the laptop into storage.
I will usually tell the teacher "things break, it happens" while repairing them.
You make an awful point. If classes were taught the way you say:
-Students can not ask questions.
-One lecture does not reach the needs of all students.
-Teachers build relationships with their students and add relevance to the content based on students' interests.
The only benefit is that the student can watch the lecture more than once. However, that's what note taking is for. Plus, note taking aids the memory because it is not in one ear and out the other.
There is a few teachers that embrace technology, these teachers primary work on make the stuff they learn seem useful and let the pupils learn them whats going on i the world. Or to put in other words, filter the information on the net. The rest learn there stuff and try to put that (ofter years old) shit into the head of the pupils.
i get what you mean, thinking back to primary times... we never touched anything exept books... now im up in collage every lesson revolves around a screen.

technology should be rendering traditional "teachers" and lessons obsolete. Record it, post it, teach it to all ONE time
