  • Too bad Cuban citizens don't have the ability to travel freely out of their own country to enjoy vacations abroad like you guys did.

  • Yes. It is too bad. Not sure how this comment is relevant to the video, unless you're trying to make me feel guilty for enjoying a vacation.

  • Nobody has the power to make you feel guilty. You create your own guilt. I'm surprised at how many people are unaware that most Cubans cannot travel freely. I live in Barcelona, and like you, vacationed in Cuba three years ago (we were in Santiago). I also enjoyed my vacation, especially meeting the Cuban people. I was, however, saddened by the lack of basic freedom I witnessed, and the people's frustration at not being able to leave the island freely.

  • Yup, we had several conversations with the staff at the resort and the people we met in Varadero about this. It is unfortunate. Still not sure how it relates to a video about a beautiful beach. And if you'll notice, I didn't say you made me feel guilty, I implied that you were trying to. At any rate, I posted this video to show people who are considering travelling to Cuba how gorgeous the beach at this particular resort is. Not to start a political dialogue.

  • Forgot to mention your video is a little blury what did you use?

  • An old digital camera. I don't have it any more so I'm not sure what kind it is.

  • Beautiful beach! You can really hear the wind in the video! Was it a very cold wind or a pleasant cool breeze? lol

  • well the wasnt good that time sorry guys .we have the best beach in cuba

  • I can imagine food in an economically depressed communist society isn't the best. Ironically, Cuban food in other parts of the world is quite delicious.

  • We stayed at the Iberostar Laguna Azul in Varadero, and had a great time but our room housekeeper told us some sad stories about her difficult life. There were also no Cubans staying in the hotel, or eating at the hotel restaurant, only foreign tourists.

  • I wasn't "trying to make you feel guilty." I also went to Cuba and have no guilt about it (or desire to make anyone else "feel guilty"). I'm passionate about human rights, and your video reminded me of some feelings I had when I went to Cuba. For me, my comment has a lot to do with your video. Furthermore, posting a video on YouTube that was shot in Cuba is bound to receive political comments. Maybe I just initiated a worldwide political discussion on your video. That's the beauty of YouTube.
