  • great lesson thanks grz from belgium

  • @oiram42 Glad it was helpful. Thanks! Malcolm

  • Thanks for the tutorial Malcom. I'm having a bit of trouble picking out the string sequence when you go CGC in the chorus. Do you have a tab, or could you explain it a bit more clearly for a novice like me. Thanks.

  • @RobertSaunders1973 Sorry about the delayed reply. I am afraid I don't have a tab. You can just pick out the C chord, then change to the G chord, which you can pick, and then back again to a C. The pattern does not really matter, just use the normal C, G and then C shapes and play around with it until it sounds right. Sorry to not be able to be more specific. Hope that helps. Malcolm

  • Thanks for this. However, don't film yourself in front of a bright window next time as it makes it difficult for the camera to get the correct light balance.

  • @foxtok Thanks for the tip. Fortunately, for most of the video it is not an issue as the frame is mostly on the guitar only. Hope you were able to get something from the clip anyway.

  • Great lesson thanks.

  • Hi. Great John Martyn!

  • @ianmcgeachy Many thanks as always for your kind words, Ian. I hope to get round to doing more instructional vids of stuff from London Conversation in the not too distant future.

  • Brilliant Mallcolm. Ive played this 'my own way' for years but Im gonna take a close look at this to learn it better, I mean, better 'tonewise; as it were, as you have it here. Great stuff and well presented for a tutorial.

Your command of Johns early stuff is formidable, (and Im downloading everyone of your videos by the way , for when I get round to doing that early stuff properly!!)- keep on picking, much appreciated - Ian
