hey man, it went really well. Surprised we got it down perfectly after the first time we tried it! i was kinda concerned because really the singer makes or breaks the song, but the singer did really well!
Whenever we progress abit more i'm sure we will start uploading some vids or something, so if we upload wetsand i'll give ya a shout!
take it easy man, and again thanks alot! would have struggled if it hadn't been for your lesson

Everything is great but only if you helped out a bit with the strumming patterns! Thanks anyway :D

I've got the book and the guitar track CD that comes with it. Your lesson is incredibly helpful with all that. But I think there is a variation he plays on that first fill you demonstrate before the G chord. He plays that variation twice more between the G to D and the D to Em with a higher note at the end. See what you think. I'll have to work it out by ear. Top stuff though. So enjoying learning this song (my favourite RHCP). Thanks.

@Uksprinkelz Hm... not sure about the strumming pattern. FOr the intro it's something like down, down, up, up down, up down up in 8ths. Hard to explain with words, but I'm pretty sure none of it is in 3/4

how do you play the outro of the song? at the part when its like E, F#, G#m when John plays it its sounds like hes picking every note almost? help pls

That part is actually (not surprisingly) multi tracked. There is a part that he is arpeggiating the chords and there is a guitar that is strumming it in the fashion that I show. I didn't show the arpeggio version because it would extend the video too much. You could check out Fdser654's cover in the related videos section though. He plays it arpeggiated. In the original recording, john plays it w/ the bridge position and speeds up the tape to double speed, so the notes become high pitched

Man, great lesson! My band wants to cover this so i had to learn it for tommorow! thank you so so much. you have no idea how much I appreciate this. I never play chords and stuff. just play lead. So i'm bad with chords minor/major etc. Just do power chords lmao. so thanks alot! very helpful!

Hey man, glad I was able to get you out of a jam (no pun intended). You should definitely learn chords and music theory though! It will help you loads with your soloing since youll learn to play the relattive minor/major of chords when soloing, learn how to stack thirds, emphasize tension notes, etc. Good luck with your cover, let me know how it goes!
