Art of Tanbour Part II: Exploring the Music of Ostad Elahi (1895-1974)

An exceptional musician and a key innovator of the sacred art of tanbour, an ancient Kurdish lute, Ostad Elahi transcended the traditional repertoire of the tanbour and elevated this music to an entirely new level. His more than 100 original compositions also serve as the backdrop for his inspiring improvisations.
Here, his youngest son and musical protégé, Dr. Chahrokh Elahi, plays pieces from Ostad Elahi's repertoire.
