  • I'm very happy that Argentina(!) watches my "video" . Thanks ! Of course the reason that solo sounds so much like the Burritos & Parsons etc is that it is Pete Kleinow on the steel pedal guitar. You're right - I feel the same way about that part of the song. Thanks again ! (PS Happy summer solstice - in three days !)

  • Not taking anything away from The Eagles, but I prefer this version. Especially how it segues into Our Lady Of The Well. This was one of his best albums.

  • You guys should check the story of how this song was minutes away from being tossed in Jackson's shit can. The short of it is Glen was living in the same apartment building and kept hearing Browne working this piece. Glen pops in and says something like "Yo! what's with that piece you were working on?" Browne's response was like "I tossed it. You want it?" Take it. 'Southern California' was changed to 'Winslow Arizona'. And,, well ya'll know the rest.

  • yeeeaaaahhhh...

  • to all the nubs... jackson browne wrote this song. that is all

  • don't vote if ur that stupid

  • Eagles didn't write this...Jackson Browne diid,I bet u also tell ppl how great Communism is!

  • Is Sneaky Pete even playing in this version...or is his track left out? The LP I have has him playing a sweet steel pedal guitar through to the next song.

  • @hooeybrown Give credit where credit is due THE EAGLES!

  • @rolossining Sneaky Pete Kleinow was one of the most popular steel players in the late 60's to early 70's. He did a lot of session work and can be found in the credits of albums by artists as diverse as Fleetwood Mac, Linda Ronstadt, the Stones, and Stevie Wonder.

  • @antdigger Jackson Browne wrote it in the first place and gave it to the Eagles. Glenn Frey finished the 2nd verse and got a co-writing credit. Yes, the Eagles released their version first, but I still consider this to really be Jackson's song. This version, though not a hit, was better than the Eagles version.

  • yee, heh
