Been living in my inlaws house not far from the monastery. It has been restored a lot. The most impressive is how they got all those big blocks of sandstone from the quarry in Ban Kruat all the way to the top of the hill, or mountain as they see it.

If you can, visit in april, when there are parades during the day and a nice lightshow at night. Can be rather hot thought :)

This is a very beautiful Khmer temple.

It is not a Hindu temple. It is Khmer temple built by Khmer ancestors. There are many ancient Khmer temples in Thailand but the Thai government refer to them as Hindu temples instead of Khmer temple because they don't twant o give credit to Khmers or make refernce to Khmers , the originial ownesr and builders of the temples..

The 15 chambres in the temple are lit by sunlight when they are all in line 3

happens days a year for some time a day.

I've been there a lot but never at that time, yet.
