@herbaissimo You need to make a CD/DVD image, boot with that, then use the Puppy Installer to create the USB drive. Full instructions are available on our website at linuceum. com /Distros /osInstallPuppyLinux. php

Thanks, I appreciate it , but I guess I didn't make myself clear as I am not a native English speaker , let me put it this way : why can't I install puppy on a hard-drive by using an iso file, unetbootin and a flash-stick, like I do with the majority of distros?

I had installed tons of Linux distros this very same way ... but it's not working with puppy or Macpup at all

@herbaissimo Puppy Linux is not designed to boot from a hard drive - it's designed to boot from a CD/DVD or USB stick only. We're not aware of anyone who has successfully installed it to a hard drive (we have tried, believe me).. but we may be mistaken. People looking for a hard drive installation normally seem to end up looking at Tiny Core Linux over Puppy

"Here I have the image on a DVD-R; I'm not sure it will fit on a CD. It's pretty small about 100meg" LOL

Sorry to rib the presenter here about that one. I had a hard time resisting. Hope he is able to laugh at himself about that one; I'm sure I've made similar snafus like that myself :-)

@Timothy Gott The presenter is well used to inserting his foot into his mouth and giving it a stir, so I wouldn't think he'd mind
