@othinkblueo Lol..From what I hear, The Wire is a pretty good crash course. It's probably a good thing that the Baseball fans have no clue. They're just there to enjoy a damn Baseball game lol. Ignorance is bliss.

BTW.. "Running Base" has NOTHING to do with Baseball. lol.. a mear play on words. I wonder if the Baseball fans have any idea what he's actually talking about.

@egriggs I'm pretty sure they've figured out by now that he means "bass". I think the lyrics are actually, "I used to run base like Juan Pierre. Now I run bass hi hat and snare," which could mean he used to play baseball, but now does music. Doesn't matter anyway, Juan is long gone. I wonder if this is still his song.

@othinkblueo LOL! Uhhhh.. negative. He means neither Base (as in Baseball) nor Bass as in Bass and snare, when speaking of what he use to do. He's referring to 3 distinctly different kinds of the same phonetic word. "Running base" is a term that means to sell drugs. He and Juan both run/ran base, but in 2 different ways. Double meaning... Jay-Z is extremely good at that. This is an example of one of his more THINLY veiled drug selling references. Just some useless info for ya.

@egriggs Thanks. I have very limited knowledge on drug selling, sorry. I'm only on like disc 4, season 1 of The Wire.

Yeah, I figured that out, at least the first part of it, but I didn't change it because of an inside joke. You a Jay Z fan?
