VERY helpful! Thank you. I've been trying to get some idea of what the model lineup covers. Am I to understand that anyone with bigger hands needs to move into the A500 range? Is the extra large grip/battery not available on the A300 range? Anyone out there with some real world experience is welcome to send me your thoughts. I'm familiar with Minolta Maxxum series 35mm SLRs and had always been very happy with them but I need to move into digital.

@MovieTrailerGuide Zoom is the ratio of the longest focal lenght to the shortest focal lenght of a lens. Focal Lenght is an attribute of a lens, is "how much it magnifies". An 400mm fixed lens has a 1x zoom, but magnifies much more than the 18-55mm that has an approximately 3x zoom. The Sony 70-300mm is a good lens. =)
