Country :Billy's first CD, Heart, Don't Fail Me Now, is also available at CD Baby and Big Beard Records, as well as all the online retailers.
Where to start with Dee's music? Easy: that voice. His sturdy stature might give it away, but even if you're prepared, his power still demands your undivided attention...and thankfully so; such a rich, deep, booming baritone is hard to come by. Think of Johnny Cash's register with George Jones' suave singing voice. His soul oozes it and his voice does not betray: this is classic country.... Dee is very likely the greatest electric bass player in country history.... What I'm not surprised about is how much I like the whole album. And I wouldn't be surprised if some big name country artist with a hat he doesn't adequately represent picks up one of Dee's songs and makes a gold record out of it."
@australianfan - Cheers, I am impressed that you found this undiscovered artist on another continent (I presume) and have promoted him via youtube, probably the best publicity he's gotten. I met him in Austin in a bar the size of a garage. He was playing a vintage Fender bass, with Hell's Angel-style hair and beard. Incredible show. Billy Dee is the real deal. This wasn't that long ago and at the time he didn't own a computer.
