@skinnerc06 , this could be a huge stretch, but perhaps the 'twat-like' "uhs" and "ums" are more reflective of him being caught in the moment and being passionate about what he's doing, rather than being "terrible" and unrehearsed. People like personal connections and 'people' in front of the camera, not robots like most talk show hosts. But as a talk show host yourself, I'm sure you rehearse everything to death and are as robotic as hell.
