Interesting stuff. I'm watching this as a brand new soaring pilot whose home club only utilizes the winch launch method (due to noise-sensitive neighbors). Nice to learn a bit of theory prior to being trained for this IRL at another club. :o)

We do ground tow as well, but we haven't reached above 1200 feet yet. Still practicing.
