The names of the two people found murdered in a Webber Crescent home this week are Garett John McComb, 23, and Brittany Joan Giese, 19. Both are residents of Prince George.
Police were called to a home in the 2300 block of Webber on Tuesday night with information that something was amiss inside. Police knew the home from a previous raid less than a month ago that turned up handguns and five people who were arrested at the time.
When police found the two bodies inside the house they held the scene in stasis for most of Wednesday before the search warrant process allowed them to enter for a full forensic examination.
The bodies were transported from the home in the 2300 block of Webber Crescent at about 5:45 p.m. and members of Prince George's Forensic Identification Unit moved in for hours of scene analysis that went on well into the night. Notification of next of kin also started then.
"Both of these individuals are known to police," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Const. Gary Godwin of the victims.
It has not been disclosed what the motives there might have been for this double murder, how police came to know of the victims, how long they may have been in the house, how they were killed, or if any suspects have been identified.
Police have so far said only that the murders appear to be targeted and have the apparent markings of the Prince George gang world, although no specific gang conclusions have been drawn so far.
It is known that the vehicle in the driveway, a Lincoln Navigator, had been riddled with holes the same day as the downtown gunfight that happened earlier this summer. That incident, said police, was an exchange of gunfire between members of the Independent Soldiers gang and an unaffiliated group who are apparently involved in rival drug trafficking.
