The original base line of The Supremes 1964 release COME SEE ABOUT ME"
Come See" was only originally intended as an album track (Where Did Our Love Go), but when 14 year old Nella Dodds released her version on the Wand Label, Gordy rushed released The Supremes cut, even though it was barely 3 weeks after the release of Baby love, which was winding it's way to the top spot in the US.
Gordy's tactics paid off, because although Dodds's version was very similar, it got no higher than No 74.

Get a grip. Tell me how many photos Dross was edited out of. The fact that she contributed next to nothing to this track does not warrant every picture having her mug on it.

You worship her if you want to, I don't.

And if you think you are mighty enough to preach to me about jealousy and pettiness, why don't you write to the lady in question.

  • Awesome track! Mary & Flo make singing in unison so incredible! I like how on this track, they actually start the hook in harmony and finish in unison, even at the end. Thanks for sharing this!

  • Diana is singing in that background with Mary and Flo, which is why those sounds are so rich!

  • @bluenile048 oh do you have that right.....!!!

  • you have to realize, to sing over these tracks, you had to have chops. the energy the funk brothers were putting out, you had to be able to matcht it, and that was a feat in itself. Joan Osborne did some amazing tracks with the Funks, but you can see she really had to work.

  • great funkers´s!!!

  • This could have been a hit as is!!

  • @oceanbound222

I think your assessment is third rate. Give me a break, these girls could sing. Maybe that is why they sold more records than most groups, men or women, than most artist could only dream of.

  • @oceanbound222

Are you serious. I guess that's why they sold millions and millions of records.

  • @SinclairisCool THE MOTOWN THREE: Benny , Pistols and Uriel the best studio drummers of all time.
