Immigration Rallies in NYC - May 1, 2009

On May1, 2009, immigration rallies took place throughout New York City.
This video depicts scenes from the Madison Square Park rally and the march across downtown Manhattan. The Madison Square Park rally began at 1:30 p.m. with diverse speakers and a text messaging campaign. Despite the pouring rain, hundreds of immigrant rights supporters started marching at 6 p.m. to City Hall, flaunting flags and chanting, calling for immigration reform.

what is the giganctic fucking deal? all we ask is that people come to our country legally. why do these people take it upon themselves to stand up for criminals? why not instead advocate legal immigration? then families wont be torn apart and people wont be sent back. when you come to our country you are subject to our laws. be proud of your heritage but dont display loyalty to it. your loyalty as a citizen is to your country and if that is too much to ask then dont come here.
