I would especially like to hear your views on how the media portrays the American stereotype and how the stereotype differs from reallity.

  • I can't believe I missed tha one. It's great!

  • Conservative politicians tend to use religion for different things. I'm a conservative and Christian and the use of God in politics does bother me a bit.

Using God's or Jesus' name in political agendas never seem to turn out well and it does nothing but makes us 'normal' Christians look bad.

As for prayer, my prayers tend to be for health, protection, guidance, and prosperity for myself and those I care about. Of course, I am speaking in general terms.

  • "Lord, Help us to over take the world.. In your name" hahah XD yeah.. thats America..

nn About Christians.. thers sooo many different types of them like Baptist, Catholics, Lutherans.. and alot more.. their all really different.. like Im a Seventh Day Adventist.. (( type of Christian )) and I would hate to be called a Baptist ((another type of christian ) and the polotics stuff.. not sure about I dont pay much attention to them X)

  • The last figures I heard, from a few years ago now, was that 70% of Americans were Christian and 90% of Americans believed in something.

As for how many involve their beliefs in politics I couldn't say, but it's been years since I've had any sort of political discussion that religion wound up entering into. In fact, I think I've known a sum total of one person who "reasoned from the Bible" in political matters.

  • No.. There is a growing atheist movement. I am one American that is very much an atheist.
