those belts are cald bands in the 200 or 2004r they are only used in manual ! and 2nd and forth the car would still drive if this was bad it just would not shift most likely the problem will be with your forward clutches the directs (3rd and reverse are probally not to bad because you said it still worked in reverse a 2004r has a overdrive planetary and drum in front of the direct drum either one of these tranys require special tools to build
well back to delta i had just got off work so i havent been able to reply lately but now that ive seen what ur saying on the delta is check fluid or filters if its not that then its a belt in the transmission
ya I need to do that maybe this weekend though its really out of the way for me.
I more or less set the car back since so many are getting destroyed these days maybe it'll be a collector if not I still like it I wouldn't mind restoring it since its al there and unwrecked.
but besides that it would be a great car to learn how to repair an auto on.
I'll prob try a full rebuild if its not a filter fluid is good I'm gonna guess belt since all fw was good
so im guessing you dont want me to help? its no problem for me =] i work on cars all the time and go to school for it and have books on it so it wouldnt be a problem
No I want you to help jus letting you know I'm not gonna get back tommrow maybe later this week.
I really would like to learn how to rebuild an auto cause I opened the Nissan one and really couldn't figure out how it works. Not so simple like a combustion engine atleast to me. I do have an idea now that I did atleast open one of whats what still don't know how to fix them.
I'd imagine a GM tranny would be about the best to learn on being so common and cheap to fix
there is also something you might be able to see to tell me if its electric or not look around where the bell housing bolts on the front not sure if top or bottom look for a wiring harness or wiring harnesses
can u look to see if it is 200r or 200-4r? by any chance or have anything that might tell you? my book lists multiple transmissions for that year like this one it says one has a bolt on bell housing phased in a long with a 6 bolt tail housing
