Maajid Nawaz, Director, Quilliam Foundation Former member of the Islamic political group Hizb-ut-Tahrir Nawaz speaks about his conversion to ISLAM while in an Egyptian prison for practicing Islamism. He explains the difference and offers a new paradigm to consider -- true ISLAM!
As a CHRISTian I can appreciate his desire to understand the true tenants of his faith and seek a better understanding of God/Allah.

The acid test is for him to express the same views he and his colleague Ed Hussain express in newspapers i.e. consider Islams punishment system as backward and barbaric etc..let him and his colleague go to Mosques express these views and you will find he is insignificant in the community and his organisation over inflate their importance and knowledge to secure funding...

cont..why contine for a year after?? It seems he was nurtured for his betrayal and made his move when it was felt his leaving could affect HT. The reality is, his departure had no impact. People in the group only respected him due to his attachemnt to Islam, now that he is considered by most Muslims who know him as outside the folds of Islam, he has two faces because when his organisation want to be considered significant, they visited mosques etc..but present a differenrt face to be accepted..

He repeats his story over and over as the government continues to pay him. He is a liar because when he returned from Egypt (where he was brought out due to fear and given favourable treatment in comparison to others) he stayed with HT for a year fearing he would be branded a coward. Than he was offered a good pay packet from the government and made his choice, despite attending HT events and even representing the group for year after leaving Egypt. If he made his discovery in Egypt why cont....

What is neglected to be mentioned by some of the modernist idiots on here is that this speaker is part of a british govt. funded consortium that:

a. supported the war in Iraq

b. considers all forms of jihad as wrong, including Palestinian resistance to Israel and the Bosnian resistance to the Serbs

c. Wants Muslims to adopt Homosexuality as normal

d. Believe parts of the Sunnah are irrelevent to modern day culture

e. Openly advocates and supports further British and American invasions.

This person was actually one of the leaders of Hizb ut Tahrir. Accusing him of low intellect is very silly of you. If you read his books and what he has written on his website you will see is definitely making sense. Qur'an does not talk about just establishing states or politics. It talks about Islam as a deen and Prophet (pbuh) as mercy for mankind. Before mocking people you need to read Qur'an yourself and understand the real message of Islam. May Allah (S.W.T) guide you.
