Seether - Rise Above Fest promo

This video is filled with messages of hope and encouragement from people who have been directly affected by suicide and depression and by Seether's peers who have banded together to help support the cause. Labor Day 2012 marked the inaugural Rise Above Fest in New Hampshire, a charity event that was formed by Seether in conjunction with NAMI (National Association of Mental Illness) to raise funds for and awareness of suicide prevention and mental illness.

"I lost my brother 5 years ago to suicide and it never gets easier," Shaun said. "This whole festival came about as a dedication to him and I think in a way to make a meaningless tragedy like that become meaningful."

I love Seether when I got to see You live with my 2 best friends in 2008 (auckland NZ) best night of my life. 2 days after my 19th b-day I lost my dad to suicide he has missed so much of the lives of me and my 2 sisters, a month after he died I found out I was pregnant with his first grandson. All my kids have of their grandad is what I can tell them hard on them not ever getting to meet him.

Lost my best friend--my husband to suicide & I still think of him everyday! He was not one you would think would be a "typical suicide", he always seemed so strong, as if he could handle anything--which goes to show that even those closest can miss the tell- tale signs. Reach out, find those to connect with & rise above the pain, the suffering & conquer this tragedy!!

5:50 That girl is STRONG. I wouldn't know anybody who wouldn't like this girl. I would be her friend. And i would listen too. I've thought of suicide too, and I understand what she gets at. I would of been dead if it wasn't for my boyfriend now. And me and him would of died because we never loved life like other people. We are now 15 and we've been dating for a year and a half. i have lost two really good friends in the past 3 years. i got tattoos for each of them as a memorial to them. i really miss both of them everyday. i am getting another tattoo to help others around me, its 3 simple words everyone should live by....NEVER GIVE UP !!!!

Seether's music has so much meaning for me. The Rise Above This Fest is a wonderful thing. Several years ago a friend's teenage son committed suicide.. we had no idea that he would do this.
