Actually people don't need to be couch potatoes to make their own projectors, I have done one and I haven't regret it the quality is very good and I spent around 300€ on it mine is 1280x1024 a projector for that price would be only 800x600 not to mention the bulb on a commercial projector is much more expensive and lasts much less
