My 10 week old Dalmatian puppy is deaf also. I was told that 2 out of 3 Dalmatians are deaf in at least 1 ear. Also if they have blue eyes they have a greater chance too. With just 1 blue eye which ever eye is blue they have a good chance to be deaf in the ear of the side that has the blue eye. Our puppy has 1 blue eye but he can not hear out of either of the ears. I've only had him just over 3 weeks, but he seams to be a fast learner. I haven't worked on any signs yet, because I just started

The black dog was 16 years old at the time of this video. She (India) is no longer here because she died shortly after this video. In the video, you can tell she wasn't doing so well because she stayed on the floor.

Our mother trained her deaf dalmatian in conjunction with a hearing dog so that the deaf dog could see the same asl commands given to the hearing dog. This is a way of mimicking the hearing dog's behaviors, for it to transfer over.
