This night vision video shows the smoke from the Fort Lauderdale Florida Power & Light plant forming into clouds and drifting over South Florida. The cloud formation occurs when the air is still and the atmospheric conditions are right — otherwise the smoke is almost invisible, day or night.
Portions of the video have been speeded up to make the movement of the smoke and the development of the clouds more apparent.
In 2003, FPL reportedly released 1,589 tons of soot from this plant!
So this is a video of stacks venting. But WHAT is being vented here? Is this just steam or something else? And if it's something other than steam, what is the acceptable levels of what's being vented by the regulating authority?
Way too much information NOT being provided here. Just showing some stacks venting doesn't mean any laws are being violated.

Well, I dont know where you get your facts from, but hearsay wont hold up in court. FPL though only building a "1/2 acre" of solar panels in Florida, I highly doubt you know about the 75MW solar plant near Indiantown, FL. How about the one in De Soto? FPL may not be the best company, but give credit where its due. People just complain about FPL because THEY CANT PAY THE BILLS.

If we would stop running our A/C's, HD televisions then maybe they could shut it down. But how do you blame them when us as consumers create the need?
You want to pay for cleaner electricity? Because if you do, they'll be glad to do it.

I am not allowed to move and live eight blocks from a refinery in Cheyenne, WY that puts out more than 4,000 tons of pollutanst of various kinds annually. The EPA has no presence AT ALL in Wyoming and other states.
I have extremely severe asthma, the worst for every 4 million.

FPL should be ashamed to say they are green. They collect $300,000 per month for their green energy program(from their customers) which consists of 2 guys in Stuart who tell me the only thing they have done in Florida is a 1/2 acre solar project and that is only in the planning stages. I urge everyone to hold FPL's feet to the fire to tell the truth and stop the emissions on the old plants before they can build any new fossil fuel plants.
