Mina Sambinha is a song I wrote inspired by brazilian music and accordion/bandoneon, specially the superb french player Marc Berthoumieux. This time I play with MIDI guitar. Jazz Guitar


I have a broad of influences toward Jazz Guitar. Brazilian music specially is a endless source of inspiration. I was particularly touched for this tune creation by talents, music and human spirit of artists like Ivan Lins and his extraordinary band (have to listen Leonardo Amuedo!) and Joao Bosco also with a incredible staff of band-mates and guest musicians like Gonzalo Rubalcaba in Incompatibilidade De Genios. And of course...Tom Jobim, always present and alive forever!

Technical stuff
I did play a Godin xtSA blending the electric guitar pickups with a bit of piezo acoustic spice, there is too the midi guitar synth controlling a french accordion sound from RS5 keyboard via Roland Gi-20 Midi converter. Pure MIDI guitar..!
I composed and recorded this song with the help of amazing program Band in Box 2008 - www.pgmusic.com - including live "on the fly" electric and Midi guitar performance direct to the stereo audio track available in Band in a Box.. not overdubs or edits..it was HARD!! because, beside the playing itself, there are real time switching between electric, acoustic and midi, I got a decent version after 3 or 4 attempts. Band in a Box is, to me, a invaluable practicing, composing/arranger assistant tool for musicians, song writers, jazzers, composers and students..I can assure it had been a fundamental key in my
musical growth and jazz guitar player.

Tremendo Carlos, mis felicitaciones! por tu musica y tu gran toque, justo el otro dia leia un post donde hablabas de esta guitarra en hispasonic y hoy buscando videos sobre la godin xtsa me encontre con este video, y fue una grata sorpresa, lo disfrute tanto, que hasta agarre mi quena y me puse a zapar un poquito encima.

En el segundo 00:39 tienes el mismo tono que la Ovation de Dimeola... Interesante....

@ufologo22 , gracias. Precisamente en ese instante la guitarra comienza a sonar al unísono con el timbre de acordeon frances, asi que lo que estas escuchando no es solo guitarra sino dos instrumentos al mismo tiempo. Saludos.

no tengo palabras de verdad me dejas con la baba, encontre tu video por que estudio musica y quiero componer para un concurso un latin sin embargo no tenia ni la mas minima idea de la armonia q puedo usar y en videos asi aparte de ideas , nace inspiracion de verdad muy bueno mis respetos. disculpa abusando de tu confianza podrias subir un tutorial de armonia para latin? o me pasarias videos tuyos o pistas como estas para improvisar o solo para escucharte?
