Jesus Christ people, who cares, Pakistan and India were ONE COUNTRY! It's sad to see people of both countries fighting over small things!
-
@robindenoir1 I know, that's an unfortunate phenomenon - stealing ideas. India is much better at leveraging and making money for a number of reasons. Pakistan still has the creativity, and intellectual and artistic genius.

@robindenoir1 nobody remade a pakistani movie u dumbass!! umrao jaan is an indian legend with books written on her. she lived in the city where i come from-lucknow at the time of the 1857 mutiny. her legacy is for all indians to cherish. if pakistan did make a movie on her then its pakistan who committed the plagiarism.

@robindenoir1 DUDE do NOT assume I'm Indian just because I watch Indian Cinema, I'm white bro so keep your racism to yourself and don't hide behind a screen name. AND enough about copying, if you TRULY studied ALL Cinema, INCLUDING HOLLYWOOD, YOU WOULD SEE that HOLLYWOOD RIPS OFF MOVIES, DID YOU EVER SEE STARS WARS EPISODE IV? Google Star wars/633 Squadron and Dambusters and you'll see copying at its finest.

@RainPoetry u know when u copy a movie u take permission from the country to copy it, and they did not do that, it stinks how when pakistan has a great song it becomes a hit but when indians copy it the director is getting millions
:(

One out of 10 songs which I like most and ever remember. Both the singer Asha and the actress Rekha have jointly given life to the lyric. In fact, my craze for this particular song never ends.
There is such a refinement to high Indo-Muslim culture (poetry, music, literature, architectures, handicrafts, etc.)), that if you know it, there is nothing quite as sublime and sophisticated in the world like it. None of the "high" culture of Europe, etc., can compare. I remember watching this as a child. What a beautiful rendering of an Urdu classic. Rekha and Asha were a dynamite combination. And the music is achingly beautiful.

With all due respect to Ash, and the many beautiful faces of Indian cinema, this film and this woman can never be remade
